MacGregor Hall, CIMA

MacGregor Hall, CIMA, Managing Principal mac@deschutesadvisors.com

MacGregor has spent the last 20 years in the management and administration of corporate and individual retirement plans. He was with The Crabbe Huson Company and most recently was a Principal of Copper Mountain Trust and Advisors, Portland.

MacGregor received a BS degree in Finance and a BA in Economics from the University of Oregon. He received a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation in 1998 through the Investment Management Consultants Association/Wharton Executive Education Program.

MacGregor specializes in consulting for institutional retirement plan sponsors. MacGregor will work with you to design and implement the best program possible for your employees and assist you in meeting your fiduciary responsibilities.


Bryn Torkelson

Bryn Torkelson, Principal bryn@deschutesadvisors.com

Bryn has been a registered representative since 1981. He was affiliated with Dain Bosworth, Inc. until March 1997, when he started Deschutes Portfolio Strategies, Inc., a registered investment advisory and consulting firm. Prior to joining Dain Bosworth, Bryn was a Limited Partner at Boetcher and Co., before it was acquired by Kemper. He started his career with Smith Barney in Seattle. Bryn received his BS degree in Finance from the University of Oregon.

Bryn oversees investment consulting services for our corporate clients. Bryn will work with you to develop and implement an investment policy statement, select investment options, and provide ongoing monitoring and reporting services.


Dennis Munsey

Dennis Munsey, Senior Consultant dennis@deschutesadvisors.com

Dennis has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry and has a proven record of success in the marketing and management of investment advisory services. Prior to joining Deschutes Investment Advisors in March 2000, Dennis served as Senior Vice President and Sales/Marketing Manager of Employee Benefits for a local bank and trust company.

Dennis specializes in providing personalized service and retirement plan expertise for a wide range of investment services. His services combine corporate and employee-level consultation and training as well as the creation and maintenance of relationships with ERISA attorneys, CPAs, financial institutions, record keepers third-party administrators, and other plan consultants. His diverse client base includes a variety of businesses in a broad array of industries including manufacturing, retail, financial and professional services.

Dennis’s extensive background in fiduciary services, combined with the other resources available through Deschutes Investment Advisors, helps company owners and executives enhance their retirement plan benefits while maintaining costs and ensuring compliance to fulfill their fiduciary


Dan Sholian

Dan Sholian, Senior Consultant dan@deschutesadvisors.com

Dan has been a registered representative since 1982. Dan joined Bryn at Dain Rauscher in 1993 to focus on consulting for high net-worth individuals and in 1997 left with Bryn to work at Deschutes Portfolio Strategies, Inc., a registered investment advisory and consulting firm. Prior to Dain Rauscher, Dan was with Ragen Mackenzie, Seattle, and Shearson Lehman, Seattle.

Dan received his BS in Finance from the University of Oregon. He lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon with his wife and their two daughters. Dan oversees many of our 401(k) accounts and is in charge of our Retirement Assistance Program (RAP) which offers investment advice, consultation and management to individuals enrolled in our 401(k) plans.


David T. Foster

David T. Foster, Director of Financial Planning david@deschutesadvisors.com

David is director of Deschutes' financial planning operations. With over seven years of experience in financial services, he developed the firm's financial planning system. His clients include professionals, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and business owners. In working comprehensively with his clients, David draws on expertise in investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, asset protection, insurance, budgeting and debt management.

David has also been called upon as a media resource regarding financial and economic issues. Click here to see some of David's television appearances.

His prior experience in financial services is diverse and includes advisory work at Phillips & Company Securities, Smith Barney and The Strategic Alliance.

David holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The American University Kogod School of Business, Cum Laude, 2002.


Laura Fallon-Burns

Laura brings to her position over 20 years sales and marketing experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the Deschutes team, she worked for several local
community banks in branch management, marketing and was a manager for an Investment team. In addition to her banking experience, Laura has also held several director level positions
at both large and small software companies.

Prior to joining the team at Deschutes, Laura was in private investment practice where she focused on helping local entrepreneurs, women-owned businesses and individuals in the creative fields build their businesses. Known for her positive and creative nature, Laura is involved with a number of community organizations. She is on the Campaign Cabinet for United Way and is the Membership Director for Portland Female Executives


Tim Wood, MPA

Tim Wood, MPA, Senior Financial Advisor/Consultant tim@deschutesadvisors.com

Mr. Wood began his career as a financial management analyst where he managed his organization’s annual budget and directed legislative relations. Prior to joining Deschutes, he was an associate with a boutique financial advisory firm in Portland where he concentrated on ERISA plans. His areas of focus include corporate plans governance, fiduciary advice, and participant advice and education. Mr. Wood is passionate about designing low-cost 401k plans that have complete transparency of fee disclosure, are easy to understand, and provide employees with the best opportunity to live a dignified retirement. He is an expert at uncovering the hidden fees that burden most 401k plans. Tim has been interviewed both by Bloomberg and National Public Radio on those issues.

Mr. Wood has a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and a Master of Public Administration from Lewis and Clark College where he studied municipal finance, tax, and accounting . Mr. Wood leads the Deschutes team in developing ERISA compliant practices for the trustees as well as participant education, communication, and advice.

Tim is married with four young children. He enjoys spending time with his family and running.


Eric Boughton, CFA

Eric Boughton, CFA, Portfolio Manager & Investment Analyst eric@deschutesadvisors.com

Eric brings over seven years of investment experience, most recently as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst with 1st Source Investment Advisors, where he co-managed a publicly traded mutual fund, created the firm’s outside mutual fund recommended list, analyzed individual equity securities, generated commentary and devised a quantitative approach to fundamentals-based security selection.

Eric received a BS in Mathematics from the University of Houston in 1997, is a Registered Investment Advisor, and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder.

Eric provides research and recommendations on our fund managers, and is the chief analyst for the Matisse Income Fund.


Diane Bella

Diane Bella, Internal Administration, Corporate Retirement Plans diane@deschutesadvisors.com

Diane has spent the last 20 years in the financial services industry. She was with Bankers Systems, Inc. in St. Cloud, MN in various capacities including financial and options principal for their broker/dealer, treasurer/operations manager of their proprietary mutual fund group, and senior pension administrator. Prior to joining Deschutes, she was senior pension analyst with West Coast Trust.

Diane received her BS degree in Accounting from Penn State University.

Diane manages plan administration services for our retirement plan clients. Diane will manage all aspects of your plan conversion and act as a liaison between all plan service providers.


Amanda Schneider

Amanda Schneider, Client Services amanda@deschutesadvisors.com

Amanda joined Deschutes in April 2007 and manages operations for the Matisse Limited Partnerships, several foundations, and individual high net worth clients. Previously, Amanda worked for Brandes Investment Partners, L.P. in San Diego, California, as an Assistant Trader and Internal Wholesaler. She also worked for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. in a client service and operations role where she received her Series 7 & 66 Licenses. Amanda has a BS in Business Administration with a Concentration in Financial Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.


Chelsie Romjue

Chelsie Romjue, Client Services chelsie@deschutesadvisors.com

Chelsie joined Deschutes shortly after graduating from college. She has been with the company for four years working with corporate retirement plans as well as individual investors. Chelsie received her BA degree in Communication from Santa Clara University. Chelsie will be your contact for anything relating to the website, employee education packets and the RAP program as well as being the contact person for participant phone calls or questions.
